currently i am working on video files.Can you tell how to perform multilevel histogram thresholding on the gray scale images extracted from the video files?

binaryImage = (grayImage < upperThreshold) & (grayImage > lowerThreshold);

thanks,
i have to work on the threshold has to be updated automatically according to illumination changes to get the bright objects like vehicle headlights in a night time traffic scene efficiently. can u suggest any sample code for this.
