Accelerating the pace of engineering and science


BIOMOD is a bio-molecular design competition that provides undergraduate students an opportunity to systematically engineer the self-assembly of biological macromolecules into complex nanoscale machines for scientific and technological purposes. Focus areas include biomolecular robotics, biomolecular logic and computing, and structural bionanotechnology.

Students form teams in the early spring, and then spend the summer designing, building, and analyzing their systems. In the fall, all teams converge at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA to present their work at the Jamboree.
